It is undoubtedly, the big disease, and, at the same time, the big curse of our times:

Stress.

I truly hope you agree on that point, merely by taking a good, long, honest look at your very own life.

And, moreover, you cannot fight it back – let alone eliminate it – just by your mere willpower.

Well, accept it (your feeling stress, I mean) and feel it wholeheartedly, whenever it arises within you!!!

This particular process demands from you to differentiate, a bit, from your very own feelings and / or become their (your feelings’, that is) impartial (this last word is very important, mind you!) observer.

Because, as we have said (stressed, to be more accurate) elsewhere, you are neither your feelings nor your thoughts.

What or who are you, then?

That doesn’t matter so much, right now, in the context of this; what matters is that you are nothing you typically (have learned to) associate yourself (better, your identity) with!

What matters is that you achieve this exact kind of detachment from whatever goes on within you.

Not only is it possible to do so; you actually do it anyway all the time (observe your thoughts and emotions from a, so to say, “safe distance”)!

So, the only thing you need to do is focus / commit yourself (whatever or whoever you truly are) in this detached kind of attitude and do / perform solely that, for however long you need to / it is required!

Actually, the expression «to do» that I used right above is probably not the correct, or at least the appropriate, one.

This is more of a state of being that I am talking about rather than some kind of particular «action», which you need to undertake.

Perhaps, it would be more accurate if I were to say that a certain kind of INACTION is asked from you in this respect; i.e., it’s rather that you need to drop or get rid of something rather than doing something «differently»…

In other words, you don’t have to stress any further in order to, impartially and from a distance, observe the stress that rises within you and accept it.

Because, if you were to follow the other way around (which is, anyways, what most people, probably including you as well, are doing) and fight the feeling of stress back, what you would only get back is more, secondary and unwanted, stress.

Stress that would have never been (or, to be more precise, that it is NOT there!) in the first place, to begin with!!

Why would you want that?

So, to summarise:

First, you accept that some moments or periods of your life will be, more or less, stressful, and that THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO AVOID OR ELIMINATE these periods or moments – it is a natural AND A NECESSARY part of your life that you experience them!

Secondly, you then observe this stress whenever it arises within you, from a smaller or, ideally, greater distance – like – as – a totally impartial observer.

Thirdly, you then see how your life, thereafter, changes!

And, to conclude this text and as a bonus which I would like to add, if you manage to extend this detached, impartial attitude, first to other thoughts or emotions that arise within you and, eventually, to ANY thoughts, emotions and even events that may arise within or without you (and really do so or rather NOT do so or even rather mor BE in that state), then, I can guarantee you that you are in for a big surprise or treat – call it as you want!

Oh, yes, you are in for the BIGGEST POSSIBLE treat!!!
